Dubai has been named the world’s most Instagrammable New Year’s Eve destination in a study by Travelbag, long-haul travel specialists.
The research analysed social media posts of more than 100 cities around the world to identify which one captured people’s imaginations and social media feeds on December 31 and January 1 with the beauty of their New Year’s celebrations.
Dubai came up as the winner with 10,029 posts of New Year’s Eve celebrations in the city shared under the hashtag #NewYearInDubai. Picturesque fireworks displays at iconic Dubai landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, and Palm Jumeirah are what tourists from around the world and UAE residents love to document and share as part of their end-of-year memories.
Besides being the most instagrammable destination for New Year’s Eve, we’ve also bagged the title of the world’s third-most popular destination for New Year’s Eve. By analysing the number of monthly Google searches, Travelbag identified that over 9,900 searches looked for New Year’s Eve events in Dubai.
