Here’s some news to boost that growing sense of national pride as the UAE National Day inches close. Emirates, the official airline of Dubai, has come up triumphant at the Ultimate Luxury Travel Related (ULTRA) 2023 Awards. Besides bagging the title of the “Best Airline in the World” for a second year in a row, Emirates is also the reigning champion in the “Best Airline in the Middle East” category.
And the cherry on top of such a landmark win was the fact that the 2022 edition of the ULTRA award was held in the carrier’s homeground, at Dubai’s Nikki Beach Club on November 20.
Ranked best airline in the world for excellent service
Thousands of discerning global travellers voted in favour of Emirates. The criteria that they rated the aviation giant on were value-for-money offerings, world-class products and unmatched service.
Not surprising at all considering the carrier’s innovative offerings such as free hotel stays to Dubai visitors and free ice creams in Dubai International Airport and a codeshare multicity ticket deal with Etihad Airways, have been runway hits with visitors and UAE residents alike.
Besides 2023 has also seen Emirates introduce more improvements. 10 refurbished A380s with brand-new cabins and Premium Economy seats joined the fleet. The year has also seen them expand their flight network to over 140 destinations by adding routes to new cities like Montreal.
And of course, who doesn’t love the free onboard Wi-Fi that’s guaranteed when you sign up for their Skywards loyalty programme? In addition to in-flight upgrades, Emirates has also been fine-tuning their on-ground service, the most recent update being a check-in facility at Dubai International Finacial Centre.
It’s been raining awards for Emirates in 2023
Before stealing the show at ULTRA, the DXB carrier also scooped up the 2024 APEX World Class Airline award for customer service and service-guest experience that’s second to none. Their sustainable Economy Class amenity kit cinched them the 2024 IFSA award for ‘Best Onboard Amenity Kit’.
So the next time you see one of the winged chariots from the Emirates fleet take to the skies, or board one, know that our city’s national carrier is the best of the best.
