This qualifies as the scoop of the summer. Emirates Airlines has brought back its free ice cream scheme for passengers at Dubai International Airport (DXB). Looks like Emirates is on a mission to become everyone’s favourite airline this summer, and at the rate they’re going, Dubai’s national carrier is owning the leaderboard.
How to get your free ice cream
All passengers travelling in and out of Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport can dig into tubs of ice cream. Emirates’ ice cream carts are placed at four different locations in the Departures area and are easy to spot thanks to their siren-red colouring.
Once you spot them, make a beeline for the cart and claim your free ice cream. The taff manning the pushcarts hands them out generously. Apparently, you can grab as many ice cream tubs as you want to. Get some for your family, for your travel buddies, or just treat yourself.
Four different flavours

Since they come in four drool-worthy flavours, solo travellers have the convenient excuse of “trying out them all” to grab as many as they want. Made by Emirates’ in-flight catering under the Emperor branding, options include classic summer hits of mango, chocolate and strawberry ice cream. For those with more sophisticated palates, the passion fruit or raspberry sorbet should do the trick.
Emirates free ice cream is only available on these days of the week
You know how flights during the weekends cost more? Well, it pays to fly with Emirates over the weekends this summer because the free ice creams are doled out only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. So, if you’re flying out of Dubai for your summer holidays, don’t forget to scan the departures section for bright red ice cream trucks.
This isn’t the first time Emirates has been giving away free ice cream. The airline first rolled out this promotion in 2018 and ended up handing out over 2 million ice cream cups. Now that’s the kind of ice cream fact you scream about!
The summer promotion is available to Emirates passengers and FlyDubai passengers flying out of or transiting through Terminal 3. More info here
