Staggering plans are unveiling for Therme Dubai, a AED 2 billion mega-resort set to rise directly from a lake in Zabeel Park. Surprising, isn’t it? H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai unveiled this structure – the world’s tallest wellness building – in early 2025.
The vision behind Therme Dubai
This 500,000 sq ft oasis of wellness and tranquillity is being built bang in the centre of Dubai – inside Zabeel Park and will host up to 1.7 million visitors yearly. The Dubai Frame is sure to have competition with Therme Dubai, as this unique wellness structure aims to be a whopping 100m tower.

The architects pioneering this marvel are Diller Scofidio + Renfro, a part of the Therme Group. The architecture is to be largely transparent with large glass surfaces to offer guests a view of the gorgeous Dubai skyline.
This urban oasis aims to include more than 200 plant species from around the world. Clear, warm thermal waters will create a sense of relaxation and healing for everyone around.
If all that’s making your head spin, wait until we tell you about the luxurious spa treatments and therapies this AED 2 billion hotel will have.

Inside Therme Dubai – zones, spas and amenities
Inside Therme Dubai, there are three main areas or zones. The Play Zone stands for family-friendly fun, entertainment and health-related activities for adults and children alike. The Relax Zone is for adults, with indoor and outdoor relaxation pools, mineral baths, steam baths and massages. The Restore Zone is on the top level, a quiet retreat in a spacious thermal complex. Saunas, steam baths and “innovatively designed” mineral baths are going to be available here.

Terrace pools with restorative and healing mineral and thermal waters, multi-sensory saunas. The luxurious spa treatments are based on bathing traditions like Roman and Turkish baths. Japanese hot springs, Turkish hammams, and Nordic saunas will all be available here.
While this one-of-a-kind space is a haven of serenity and rejuvenation during the day, at night things will liven up. A Michelin-star restaurant, 15 waterslides and experiential art installations will transform this project into a cultural hub too. There is space for concerts, music festivals and much more!
Cutting-edge sustainable engineering
Another key feature is the building’s sustainable engineering which will recycle 90% of the water used in its thermal pools. It will also meet 80% of its fresh air and cooling needs through clean energy sources. The plant is to be operated using 100% green electricity using solar panels and a connected solar park.
These eco-friendly initiatives are a standard by the Therme Group, a global wellness company pioneering innovative thermal spa wellness centres. They’re established worldwide with well-being resorts in Romania and Germany, and others in-making in Scotland, Manchester, Canada and South Korea.

This is in line with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan to create healthy environments and communities for all. Although this ambitious project’s construction only kicks off in 2026, it’s targeting completion by 2028. This means you could be wading in a therapeutic thermal pool in Dubai without ever having to board a flight!
