Whether you’re visiting Dubai for a holiday or a resident of the city, we can all agree that some touristic activities are actually quite the laugh, right? Here’s four of our current recommendations, we’ll be switching it up and adding more as time goes by.
Flying Cup
We’ve mentioned this attraction before in our discovering JBR article, but we thought its originiality and relative newness in the city, afforded it the opportunity to be on this list. If you’ve hung around JBR, chances are you’ve seen it because it’s hard to miss. It stands 40m above ground but it’s exact purpose might be a bit confusing… it pretty much takes a group of people up to the top and allows you to enjoy the fantastic view. It might not be the most comforting experience if you’re afraid of heights, but it’s quite tame overall and completely suitable for the whole family to enjoy! Adult tickets go from Dhs60 or Dhs80 (refreshment included), check out their website for more info and ticket purchases.
Open times: Sat – Wed 10:00am – Midnight
Address: The Beach, JBR (next to Roxy Cinema)

VIP Safari
Who hasn’t heard about the infamous desert safaris in Dubai, it’s pretty much a right of passage for anyone who’s ever visited or lived in the city. We 100% agree, it’s so much fun and the packages include so many different activities such as quad biking, dune bashing, camel riding, etc. For those that want to try a slightly fancier option, then why not go for the VIP safari! It pretty much includes the same activities but you’ll only be on a tour with the people that are in your specific party rather than randoms. Check out their website for more info.
Open times: Mon-Sun 8:00am – 9:00pm
Address: Office 1303, Control Tower, Motor City, Dubai,

Wonder Bus Tour
You know those bus tours that take you around both land and water all in one? Well the wonder bus tours do just that – it starts at a mall, takes you around the old part of the city where you’ll learn about the archaeological and historical landmarks. Then, upon reaching the creek it transforms into a boat and gives you a ride on the water. Ticket prices go from Dhs95 for adult & children, consult the websit for more experiences/ticket purchases.
Open times: From 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Address: Mercato Mall,Jumeirah 1,Dubai

Hot Air Baloon
This is definitely one of the more unique activities to do in the city and one that many wouldn’t think of when coming to Dubai. If you’re looking for something different, then this one’s for you! It’s also one of our favourites because it’s the perfect combination of a tranquil experience, fab views and just the right amount of adrenaline.
