Sometimes, when you can’t (or choose not to) travel the world, you just have to eat your way around the globe, and that’s exactly what the Street Food Festival at BurJuman Mall is for. Back for round two after its first-ever outing in 2022, the food festival is an opportunity to sample popular dishes from around the world.
So, just in case that world tour you dreamed of didn’t quite materialise this summer, just head over to the mall’s Pavilion Garden on Level 3. In between the burst of giant summery props of tropical flowers, trees exist an array of food stalls.
You can snack on delicious ‘Seoul’ food by Meokja, a Korean restaurant in Deira Islands, dumplings and Chinese delicacies from Tsampa restaurant, piping hot Spanish churros from Churros Cone Café and more.
The street food festival is free to enter and you only pay for the food you purchase. A ton of activities such as foosball, life-size chess, karaoke and an arts and crafts corner for kids are also part of the food festival so your chow time is entertaining. Keep an eye out for live music and dance performances and roaming entertainers too in between mouthfuls.
Running until August 28, the street food festival is open daily from 12pm to 10pm. While you’re there, make sure to also saunter down to the mall’s main atrium on level 1 which has been transformed for the summer with VR games, a travel-themed photobooth and spot competitions.
However, the main atrium’s lineup of fun things to do only runs until August 20 (2pm to 10pm), including a raffle draw that puts you in with the chance to win an all-inclusive free trip to Jordan.
