Well, it’s not much of a secret now that we’re spilling all the beans about the cool new venue. But it’s a speakeasy-inspired lounge, and keeping with the core pillar of those establishments, it’s hidden away pretty well on the 24th floor of the St.Regis Downtown.
Called The Other Side, the speakeasy-inspired bar, lounge and club officially opens its doors on June 18 with a performance by internationally renowned DJ Mike Andrea taking to the turntables for the opening night.
Now to answer the pressing question: How do you make your way to The Other Side?
It’s perched above TABU, the St. Regis’ Japanese fine-dining restaurant on the 23rd floor known for its theatrical dining experience and Nikkei cuisine, and is an after-dark extension of TABU. That said, The Other Side is only open Fridays and Saturdays from 11pm-4am and also has a concealed direct access from the hotel’s valet.
As you move from TABU to the hidden club in the floor above, the sophisticated vibe follows but things get a little more electric and extra exclusive as you traipse into a dimly-lit red and black venue with an island bar covered in intricate oriental artwork, which also houses the DJ booth, and a handful of plush sofas that only a lucky few can sink into – you’ll find a seat only if you can find your name on the guestlist.

The idea is to recreate the ambiance of Tokyo’s underground bars and their exclusivity. Once you’ve gained entry, you’ll gain access to veteran mixologists serving up specially crafted cocktails, mocktails, and gourmet bar-side bites to accompany them.
While your tastebuds will be captivated by the top-notch bevvies, DJs from around the globe will be entrusted with the task of entertaining your ears every Saturday, while resident DJ Emir takes to the decks on Friday nights. A blend of house beats and billboard hits make it to the playlist.
Eager to step over to The Other Side after everything we’ve told you about it? Of course, you are!
You’ll need to make a reservation to ensure you make the cut of that exclusive guest list.
