Of all the animated characters that have shaped popular culture, we bet Shrek would know how to throw a banger of a bash. UK-based events company ‘Like It. Love It.’ seems to be on the same page, which is why they’re storming the castle of Dubai’s clubbing scene with a Shrek Rave!
The Shrek Rave is a Shrek-inspired club night that’s been touring UK cities and parts of Europe since January 2023. Now, the iconic fictional green ogre from the cult 2001 DreamWorks film and his motley crew of beloved sidekicks Donkey, Puss in Boots and are descending on Dubai. The organisers announced the news via a Facebook post last week.
What to expect at the Shrek Rave in Dubai
Sadly, the post doesn’t mention locations and dates. However, we do know that much like its international counterparts, the Dubai Shrek Rave will feature a Shrek DJ Set, performers dressed in Shrek costumes, singalongs of foot-tapping numbers from the movie soundtrack, Shrek-themed beverages – think Happily Ever After potion – and themed giveaways too.
Tickets haven’t gone live yet. But you can sign up on this website with your email address and details to be the first to get a crack at nabbing tickets. Meanwhile, stock up on green body paint and costumes – ravers too dress up as Shrek characters at these events.
