Sailing the high seas for a quick weekend escape will soon be a reality for UAE residents. International cruise operator Resorts World has announced Dubai will be its new base for cruise trips in the Arabian Gulf, launching trips between the UAE, Oman and Qatar.
Starting October 18, the Hong Kong-based cruise service’s Resort World One ship will homeport in Dubai’s Port Rashid for six months.

Entertainment and activities on board
Guests can expect a ton of activities and live entertainment on board the ship. Music by DJs, pyjamas and foam parties, and movie nights are just a few of the offerings. The cruise routes will include excursions to historic landmarks and popular shopping hubs at each destination.
At ports like Sir Bani Yas Island, passengers can enjoy immersive nature and wildlife experiences. Additionally, Resorts World One will receive official halal-friendly cruise ship certification to cater to Muslim guests.
With homeports in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand, Resorts World hopes to attract new visitors from these Asian markets to the UAE. This will boost Dubai’s position as the Arabian Gulf’s cruise tourism capital. The Resorts World One cruise ship estimates it will transport 150,000 passengers and make 75 calls to ports in the region between October 18, 2024 and April 13, 2025.
Doha also will be added as a homeport from October 24 to November 2. Travellers can commence their journeys from Doha and embark on two-night Dubai cruises and five-night trips covering Dubai–Khasab-Muscat. Find more details here .
