HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum took to his twitter to announce that Pope Francis will be visiting the UAE and to celebrate, a mass open to the public will be held in his honour.
We welcome the news of Pope Francis' visit to the United Arab Emirates next February – a visit that will strengthen our ties and understanding of each other, enhance interfaith dialogue and help us to work together to maintain and build peace among the nations of the world.

Since the UAE is known for being a Muslim country, the Pope’s visit marks the cooperation of two religions coming together in a harmonious meeting to promote open-mindedness and acceptance. If you wish to attend the mass, it’ll be held in the morning on February 5th, in a soon to be announced location in Abu Dhabi.
The turn out is expected to be quite big, as the Catholic community has over a million people residing in the UAE, which is why the location needs to be specifically chosen so that everyone can be a part of this historic moment. We’ll keep you posted with new information that comes our way.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid hopes that this visit will encourage other nations to establish peace between minorities and religious groups living together in their respective communities.
