Planning a visit to Dubai’s Museum of the Future? There’s a deadline now. The city’s iconic attraction will temporarily close in mid-September 2026 as it begins its biggest transformation since opening in 2022. Every permanent exhibition inside the museum will be replaced as part of a long-planned refresh. Exact closing and reopening dates have yet to be announced.
Why is the Museum of the Future closing for renovation?
The closure marks the next phase of the Museum of the Future’s evolution. According to officials, the overhaul has always been part of the institution’s long-term strategy, allowing exhibitions to keep pace with advances in science, technology and society instead of remaining unchanged for years.
Visitors currently explore experiences focused on space exploration, climate innovation, wellness and emerging technology. Those galleries will make way for a completely new visitor journey featuring fresh interactive exhibits inspired by more than 1,000 ideas submitted by people around the world.
The museum is expected to reopen during the first quarter of 2027, around its fifth anniversary. More details on the new exhibitions will be revealed in the coming months.
