That roaring rumble you hear in the distance… That’s not thunder. Just the enthusiastic cheering of Dubai’s motorcycle enthusiasts celebrating the return of the Dubai Motorcycle Film Festival (DMFF).
Since its successful inaugural run in 2021, the annuall film festival dedicated to motorcycles and the people who love their steel steeds is back for its 2024 edition on December 7. Just in time for when the temperatures cool and Dubai’s thriving motorcycle community comes out of hibernation and the city’s superbikes out of storage.
Dubai Motor Cycle Film Festival movie lineup
Taking place at Warehouse 4 in Al Quoz, the Dubai Motorcycle Film Festival’s schedule will be vrooming ahead with a chock-a-block schedule of screenings.
A total of 6 motorcycle-themed films that delve into the riding culture, explore close-knit friendships developed in the motorcycling community, and the passion and skill poured into the sport will be screened.
The main formats of this year’s line-up are documentaries and short films, including two from the UAE – From Sand to Salt and The Piston King. The first explores custom bike builder Alan Boyter’s quest to build a bike that will establish the land speed record on the salt flats of Bonneville, USA.
Other films you can look forward to at the screening are La Petite Moto Rouge, The Great Malle Mountain Rally, While We’re Here and Long Live The Kings. And you thought that Top Gun, Sons of Anarchy and The Motorcycle Diaries were all that pop culture had to offer us when it came to bikes on the big screen.
BBQs and death-defying stunts
This edition of the festival also packs in additional activities beyond film screenings. Festival-goers will be in with the chance to attend a BBQ hosted by Cafe Rider, the well-known biker cafe in Al Quoz.
For the adrenaline junkies, there’s a special Danger Globe showcase to keep you on the edge of your seat. The gravity-defying stunt act features daredevil motorcyclists zooming around inside a spherical metal cage at extreme speeds.
That’s not all – you can also sit in on a Q&A session with From Salt to Sand director Tom Richardson and quiz him about the film. General admission tickets cost AED 65 per person and visit the website for more information.
