Islamic New Year is known as Al Hijri and it’s dates have just been announced, starting with the dry night tonight and public holiday this Thursday.
Starting this evening at 6pm, all places with liquor licences will not serve any alcohol for a total of 25 hours until tomorrow night at 7pm. This acts as a sign of respect for the upcoming festivities and in addition, there will be no live music/entertainment during the 25 hour period.
Everyone ready for a short work week? This Thursday has been declared as a public holiday, which means it’s a 3 day weekend for all of us! Who’s excited? For those that celebrate Al Hijri, happy new year!
Although we’d all love for the public holiday to drag onto next week, unfortunately we’re all back to the usual working hours on Sunday. Make the most out of the upcoming holidays!
