Operated by the Dubai Municipality, this new facility is a colossal 1 million square foot indoor market is poised to become the world’s largest fruit and veg market.
So how’s this market different from Al Aweer’s many well-known local fruits and vegetable markets, you wonder? Bloom Market offers same prices as outdoor markets
Over 800 retail and wholesale vendors sell a mix of fresh imported fruits not available in other markets, as well as produce from local farms. If you’re looking for seasonal harvest for a proper farm-to-table experience, this place has it. They’ve also got a dedicated section for organic produce.
Besides that, you’ve also got 470 parking spaces for cars, saving you a great deal of time, plus staff who’ll assist you with shopping carts and carrying large purchases to your cars.
The USP, however, of this place is that products here will have competitive prices that match the rates of vendors at outdoor markets and are considerably lower than other retailer grocers and supermarkets.
To sum it up, you’ll enjoy affordable prices of outdoor markets, yet bag top-quality, garden-fresh items from around the world in the clean, indoor convenience usually found only at big hypermarkets.
Delivery app, restaurants and expansion plans
The Dubai Municipality has some big future plans in store for the Bloom Market. Chief amongst them is a delivery app service where customers can order things home directly.
Eventually, the market will also expand to include dates, eggs and poultry, said Mohammed Faraidooni, Director of Markets at Dubai Municipality. Additionally, there are three restaurants on the second floor for when all that food shopping works up an appetite.
Bloom Market is part of Dubai Municpality’s wider plans to establish marketplaces, entertainment hubs, and tourist destinations in the emirate that boost the quality and prosperity of life in Dubai, added Mr. Faraidooni.
