Vegetarians of Dubai, your salad days are over. Thanks to brand-new food aggregator app Yalla Veggie – the world’s first meat-free app aggregator – you won’t end up getting the short end of the stick, or just carrot sticks, when you dine out.
The homegrown plant-based startup already hosts over 50 businesses and 250,000 veg-friendly products on the app, such as Papa John’s, Just vegan, Organic Foods and Cafe, union coop, and Lifco. Which means choices galore when it comes to that big weekly shop or ordering in on movie nights with your friends.
No more scouring the internet or poring over menus for meat-free products and organic produce as the app has curated an array of sustainable, green, and ethical restaurants, supermarkets, organic stores, bakeries, and even florists!
Did you know your bouquets of freshly cut blooms can cause the environment to wilt because of carbon dioxide released by greenhouse growing methods?
Yalla Veggie’s founders Aarohi Surya and Gavin England do, and they’ve personally experienced the struggle that is following a meat-free diet in the UAE, which is what planted the seed of an eco-conscious meat-free app in their minds.
The result is a mobile app that’s the first of its kind in the world.
In fact, they’ve gone all-in and lead by example – app and company’s staff too are vegans and vegetarians.
Want to meet more like-minded people? The app aims to create a community of meat-free consumers, so you’ll find a list of scrummy veggie recipes, eco-conscious wellness events like meditation sessions, and also earn points when you get a friend to join and come over to the green side.
It’s time to shed the label of being the picky eater and prove to your friend group that there’s more to veganism than iceberg lettuce and fries.
Yalla Veggie is available on iOs and Android.
