Padel’s passionate fan-following in Dubai is on its way up to rivalling tennis and cricket. In case the numerous padel courts sprouting around the city didn’t give it away, the fact that the first-ever World Padel League has chosen Dubai to be its destination is proof of how much Dubai loves padel.
And now we know padel loves Dubai too. The inaugural edition of the World Padel League will take place from June 8-11 at Coca-Cola Arena. Over four days, 24 of the world’s highest-ranked padel players will be pitted against each other in this international contest. Split into teams of four, these champions will battle it out on the court.

Billed the ‘Greatest show on court’, the action-packed event will also see three big concerts being held. Big international artists will take over the Coca-Cola Arena in the evening with their smash-hit tracks after the padel players have hit some smashing serves. Matches play out from 2pm-6pm, followed by concerts at 9:30pm.
On June 8, singer Shamma Hamdan, the first Emirati woman to make it to the finals of Arabs Got Talent will belt out her chart-topping tracks. Eighties British pop band Simply Red are performing on June 9. Dutch DJ Nicky Romero will take to the turntables on June 10. And on June 11, Bollywood singer and music composer Mithoon and Friends will put together a soulful gig.
