We’re almost two weeks into December and although so much has happened already, there are still plenty of activities and events to look forward to before the end of the month. We’ve put together a list of our favourites below…
Concerts…
The last half of 2018 has been jam-packed with concerts, it’s gotten to the point where its normal for more than one artist to perform a week. Following in this same rhythm, its only fitting that the year ends with new artists taking the stage over the next couple of days. Kicking everything off is none other than Shaggy, the man who practically dominated all party music during the early 2000s. The Jamaican artist will be at Base Dubai tomorrow (December 13th) headlining their LYFE ladies night (girls get free drinks from 10 pm – 2 am, so make sure you come on time). After a lively start to your weekend, both Enrique Iglesias and Jason Derulo will be making appearances on Friday, December 14th… two pop icons in one night? Who will you choose to watch?
Laughter Factory Comedy Nights
We’ve got another exciting plan for you this weekend if Shaggy, Enrique and Jason aren’t really your type… a night full of jokes, laughing till you cry and good company. Sounds like something you’re interested in? Well, The Laughter Factory has two nights of hilarious shows for you starting from Irish comedian Rory O’ Hanlon’s set on Thursday to Tanyalee Davis’ debut to the Laughter Factory stage on Friday. Get your tickets now at the website link above for Dhs150 and get ready to have a giggly night.
Address: December 13th: The Talk, Movenpick JBR, December 14th: Toshi, Grand Millenium, Barsha Heights
Christmas Markets…
Madinat Jumeirah is one of our favourite areas of Dubai and if you haven’t been to the area yet, then you should definitely visit the annual Christmas market because it transforms from gorgeous to absolutely magical. Taking place from December 20th – 28th, you have just over a week to schedule your trip there so make sure you don’t miss out. The vibe takes inspiration from traditional German markets with all those yummy food stalls selling mini pancakes, hot cocoa and more. The kids will have a whole gingerbread house making station to keep them entertained and to tie all of Madinat together, is the massive Christmas tree glistening in all its glory. Check out the youtube video below to give you a little tour of what you can expect:
Burj Khalifa NYE fireworks show
To conclude this list, we obviously had to add one of Dubai’s most iconic events – the spectacular fireworks on New Year’s Eve. Best of all? You get to sit in awe and watch it for free, all you need is to get that fab view of the Burj Khalifa. Pretty obvious, but the fireworks will take place on December 31st at midnight, sharp!
