Who can resist the siren call of Dubai? Definitely not Virgin Atlantic Airlines who are resuming flights to Dubai from London later this year after a four-year hiatus. The British carrier has announced that it’s reviving direct flights from London’s Heathrow Airport to Dubai later this year.
The seasonal winter route will see Virgin flights connect London and Dubai from October to March, which makes it perfect for those looking to travel to the UK during the festive season.
These flights being reinstated is also good news for passengers flying the US sector – Virgin Atlantic’s Dubai-London flights will also connect with their Virgin/Delta flights to cities such as New York, Seattle, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Book Virgin Atlantic’s Dubai flights next week
Flights officially take off on October 28 but bookings are open from June 7. You’ll want to get those tickets quickly. A return flight is around AED 2,325 at the moment but we’re sure that will change once demand picks up. And they will because tickets include full-service of complimentary food and drink as well as in-flight entertainment. All much-needed services as it’s a seven-hour direct flight.
Operated on Boeing 787-9 aircraft, Virgin Atlantic’s Dubai-London flights will take off and land in Dubai four times weekly. The flight schedule doesn’t specify the exact days of the week that the route will operate but we do know the timings.
Flights will take off from London at 5:35pm, landing the next morning at 4:40am in Dubai. Meanwhile, the Dubai-London flights will depart at 1pm and arrive at London Heathrow the same day at 5:05pm UK time.
More new flights launched to tropical destinations
Virgin Atlantic halted its flight services to Dubai on March 31, 2019 after 12 years of operations. The reason stated for withdrawing the flight routes was that it was “no longer economically viable.” The Dubai route is now being reinstated as Virgin Atlantic is focused on growing its flight network to winter sun destinations favoured by Brits. As a result, new flights to Maldives and Turks and Caicos from London have also been announced.
