Come January, you can add some lather to the rinse and repeat of daily life. The exciting running event called the Bubble Run is returning for its second edition in Dubai and it’s got runners bubbling with excitement! On January 20, you can dash through a sea of foam, slippin’ and slidin’ through suds, and have a proper blast in Expo City.
The race first made its appearance in the UAE in February this year at Bluewaters Island as a 3km event. However, this year there are two courses of different distances to choose from – 4km and 8km.Early bird tickets to this fun-filled running race start from AED 35 AND are only available until December 10; register here.
Non-competitive and stress-free
Gigantic canons will shoot colourful foam and bubbles on runners as they jog around Expo City’s paved avenues. If the idea of blowing through fluffy foam doesn’t sound compelling enough, then the fact that the Bubble Run is non-competitive should do the trick.
That’s right, the only motivation to participate in the 4km and 8km races is to have fun and embrace your inner child. Maybe burn some calories while you’re at it. Isn’t it more fun to chase soapy spheres that run on a treadmill in the gym? Either way, the Bubble Run is a great avenue to burst a few bubbles (in a good way) and release feel-good endorphins without the stress of proving your athleticism.
How to register and what to bring to the Bubble Run
Besides oodles of enthusiasm, runners are advised to bring sunglasses to protect their peepers from soapy suds and a towel and shoes as you’ll be soaked by the end. But the fun doesn’t end there – you’ll find yourself running straight into a bubble bath of a party. A live DJ, vendors and tonnes more of foam and bubbles will keep the celebration going.
Registrations for Bubble Run are open until January 19, and standard tickets start from AED 185. The event starts at 4pm and will see runners set off in batches every 10 minutes between 4pm and 4:30pm. Although the race isn’t competitive, runners who finish the foamy circuit get a finisher’s medal, goodie bags and a commemorative t-shirt. Find more details here
