Titanic II is actually in the works to be ready by 2022

After reading the outlandish title of this article, you’re probably thinking there’s no way it could be true. We don’t blame you, news stories like these don’t just happen everyday. As crazy as it sounds, a cruise ship inspired by the Titanic is in fact happening and here’s what we know so far:

Back in 2012, it was the 100 year anniversary of the day that the Titanic sunk and the idea to build a new and improved replica was first suggested. The idea quickly transformed into a $500 million project, titled Titanic II, and was initially planned to launch in China in 2016… but clearly, this never happened.

The launch date has been confirmed for 2022, with a special two week cruise offer from Dubai to Southampton. Although its three years away, the prospect of cruising in a replica Titanic and living out all of our Kate & Leo fantasies seems way to exciting!
