5. Groove to music generated by Artificial Intelligence at TODA
Music made by technology that’s not techo? Yep. Inorganic Immortality is a unique art performance happening on June 18 at the Theatre Of Digital Art (TODA) at Souk Madinat. A bunch of musicians and artists come together to create an immersive and visual musical experience whose highlight is AI-driven music. Simply put, it’s sounds generated by digital algorithms.
The event’s description also mentions ‘ambient, Advanced Generative Art and NFT’. While we’re not quite sure what all those words strung together mean, why not show up at this free event and find out for yourself? Registration is required.
When: June 18, 8m
Where: Souk Madinat Jumeirah
To register: Visit www.toda.ae
6. Add some drama to your life with a free play at the Courtyard Playhouse
Take a trip to a traditional theatre (no NFTs here, we promise) this weekend. Dubai’s flourishing arts and culture scene’s roots can be traced back to the talented local thespians of the Courtyard Playhouse. Catch a production of Oleanna, a play by Pulitzer and Tony award-winning playwright David Mamet. The two-character drama centres on a female college student and her professor’s indecent proposal to help her pass his class. Its themes of harassment, privilege and consent make this a relevant watch in the post- Me Too era despite being first performed in 1992.
When: June 18, 8pm-10pm
Price: Free
RSVP: Visit www.courtyardplayhouse.com. Seats are limited and given on a first-come-first-served basis.
7. Get artsy at this Alserkal art fair
