The Ultimate Guide to Discovering Downtown Dubai
Downtown Dubai is one of the newer areas in the city, with plenty to see and do! There’s always new stuff being built and it’s one of the most popular areas for tourists to get some great pics from their holiday. Here’s our list of highlights for finding your way around…

At The Top Burj Khalifa

Everyone knows that the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world and visiting it at least once is a must when you’re in Dubai. Theres options to go to two different floors and enjoy the observation deck as you look down at the gorgeous views of Downtown. Check out their website to see prices and book tickets.

Virtual Reality Park

Located inside the Dubai Mall the Virtual Reality Park is the escape you’ve been looking for and perfect for adrenaline junkies, families, friends and kids. Check out our article where we give you all the information you need to know about the place.

Reel Cinema

Since it’s the summertime, we all understand that being indoors is an absolute necessity because we can only bear the heat for so long. What better way to have a fun day than by going to the cinema where its cool, theres snacks and entertainment. Reel Cinemas in Dubai Mall also has a luxury experience called Platinum in which you get reclining seats, pillows, blankets and table service!

The Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is one of the coolest attractions at the Dubai Mall. Enter through a tunnel and you’ll be surrounded by fish, sharks, and sting rays swimming above you as you walk through. Once you get to the end of the tunnel you’ll enter the next step which is the underwater zoo which is home to several sea creepy crawlies, snakes, etc. The best part about coming here in summer is the 35% discount so don’t miss out!

Dubai Mall + Fashion Avenue

Possibly one of the biggest sights to see in the Downtown area is the Dubai Mall, an absolutely massive shopping centre consisting of hundreds of shops, restaurants and activities for all. Come in just to have a stroll and be amazed by the amount of shiny things to look at. If you want to experience pure luxury, head over to the Fashion Avenue section which has been recently expanded, its filled with designer brands that will have you in absolute awe.

Located right in front of the main entrance from Dubai Mall, you’ll find one of the most beautiful sights in the city. The singing fountains go off during 30 minute intervals everyday so if you’re in Downtown for the day you’ll easily be able to catch a show. Check out the video below for a taste of what to expect. It’s breathtaking!

The list of places to eat are endless and there’s something no matter what you’re craving, so we’ve named a few of our top spots.

Five Guys

Also located at the Dubai Mall, you know we had to add a good ol’ fast food burger place. Once you try the burgers from here you’ll question how you lived your life before then. The fries are fresh cut and the portions are massive – if you order a medium be aware that it’s enough for two people. The line sometimes gets a bit long because everyone’s keen to get their fix, so while you wait you might as well take advantage of the free peanuts (p.s soda re-fills are also free). Our usual order is a little cheeseburger with bbq and mayo, small fries and a coke!

Fortnum & Mason

A totally different vibe from fast food, this is a proper English high-tea cafe, located just opposite the entrance to the Dubai Mall. This place is quite pricey, so make sure you’re ready to pay for a posh experience. Our favourite is the classic high tea, equipped with mini sandwiches, scones with butter and jam, cakes and of course, a pot of tea!

PF Changs

Located on the bottom floor of the Dubai Mall, this is the place to come if you’ve been craving a Chinese recently! PF Changs is an American twist on Asian cuisine, you’ll find dishes from many different countries on the menu, whether its sweet and sour chicken, pad thai or duck with thin pancakes.

Souk Al Bahar

Located across the bridge from Dubai Mall, the Souk is a great place to soak up some Arabic culture, do some souvenir shopping and eat! During the evening, there’s tons of bars to unwind, have a few drinks and enjoy some music.

If you love a good party and are all about the club life, you’ve got to check out Armani at least once. Located at the Burj Khalifa, this is the place to come if you want to dress up, let your inner bougie-ness out and get crazy!
