The UAE has recognised that 2019 is the Year of Tolerance
The UAE have been assigning certain values and titles to the past few years, we’ve gone through the Year of Giving in 2017 and are currently in the Year of Zayed which we saw celebrated through many different events, such as the world’s largest jigsaw.

Last year, the Year of Zayed was dedicated to the late Sheikh Zayed and his overall values on acceptance and peaceful cohabitations amongst residents in a country with so many different cultures. The Year of Tolerance coming up in 2019 is meant to be a continuation of the efforts made throughout 2018 for the UAE to be an example of understanding and growth.

There have been seven pillars outlined that form the founding principles of what this year hopes to achieve, these include;

  1. Tolerance in the Community
  2. Tolerance in Education
  3. Tolerance in the Workplace
  4. Tolerance and Culture
  5. UAE Model of Tolerance
  6. Tolerance in Legislation
  7. Tolerance in the Media

H.H Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced that tolerance is one of the common denominators between well-functioning societies and is a quality that the UAE strives after. For residents in the UAE, you can expect 2019 to be a year of positive changes within every aspect of daily life.
