A few months ago we wrote an article about how new dancing fountains like the famous ones outside the Dubai Mall were set to be built on a new area at the Palm. Well, the day has come and the Pointe is finally complete. Here’s what you need to know:
With over 70 shops, restaurants, a brand new promenade for lovely strolls and another spot to watch the gorgeous dancing fountains – the Palm is now transforming from a mainly residential place to one of the top hangouts in the city. For the Dubai residents, we’ve become accustomed to new areas opening up monthly, with the announcement of Bluewaters only a few weeks ago. The Pointe couldn’t be in a better location, directly across from Atlantis, imagine the views!
Property developer Nakheel has confirmed 1.4mil square feet is dedicated solely to shopping, eating and other fun activities. We don’t know about you but sounds like the perfect sort of place for us. It’ll be split up into different sides of the marina, West Side and East Side, with a plaza in the middle for various events and concerts. The first one to kick off the season is none other than Enrique Iglesias and let’s be real, what a great choice to set the mood for the rest of the performers who start coming along. The concert is taking place next Friday, so make sure you get your tickets ASAP.
As of right now, you can also check out a brand new Reel Cinemas on the East Side, Guy Fieri’s restaurant with all the chicken wings your heart desires! If you regret chowing down too much food, then why not head over to the West Side and start preparations for your summer bod at the Fitbox gym, or you could just do a treat yourself kind of a day and get your nails done at Tips and Toes.
We’ll be reporting on any new updates about The Pointe as more restaurants and shops open, so keep your eyes peeled!
