When it comes to uniquely themed music festivals, Dubai knows how to throw a bash, whether it’s a rollicking Carnival Music Festival or a Bollywood Dance Festival. This April, the city’s immersing itself in Southern culture with a country music festival – Summer In Nashville.
Summer In Nashville – free cowboy hats, rodeos, live bands
The Dubai Media City Amphitheatre will transform into a slice of Tennessee on April 19 when the touring music festival lands. And it promises to be a barn burner with a line-up featuring tributes to legendary country music artists like Dolly Parton and Shania Twain. You’ll also get to rock out to real-deal country bands – Louisiana Surf Department, The Folly Brothers and Telander.
Music is just the beginning. This festival is determined to immerse you in the culture of the American South – everything that defines backyard parties and honky-tonks south of the Mason-Dixon line. Get hot-stopping at linedancing, try your hand at classic carnival games like axe-throwing, tin can alley and mechanical bull riding.
Best to wrap up that aspect of ranch life before you giddy up for cool ranch and sizzling Southern barbecue at one of the many food stalls. Each ticket also includes a free Budweiser beer to wash it all down.
You should show up in your best boot-cut denims, flannels and tassled leather vests. Maybe throw some spurs on your boots for good measure, too, as the Summer in Nashville festival also has a country fancy dress in store. When else will you be able to dress up like Daisy Duke or Patrick Swayze’s James Dalton from Roadhouse in Dubai?
Tickets are AED 50 per person and can be purchased here
