Ho, ho, hold on to those Santa hats! They’ll be flying off people’s heads at the Palm West Beach on December 9 as they sprint in the annual Santa Run in Dubai. The novelty race is back for the holiday season and will see a stream of runners dressed in Santa costumes jogging across Palm Jumeirah’s beachfront dining destination. No reindeer, no sleighs, just the Christmas spirit firing up runners as they make their merry way around the city.
What to wear to the Santa Run
The family-friendly race doesn’t limit your Christmassy wardrobe to just Santa outfits. If you’re short on a Kris Kringle ensemble, runners are also welcome to dress up in elf costumes, tack on reindeer antlers, show up in the ugliest Christmas sweater ever or even come dressed as the Grinch! It pays to put some thought into your festive running outfit as the best-dressed runners can win cash, staycations at Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah hotel and other gifts. If there ever was a time to ditch the athleisure, it’s for this race.
Three different courses and plenty of prizes
Split across three different distances, you can choose to run either a 1km, 2.5km or 5km course. Take your pick depending on what’ll make you pout and cry and huff and puff the least. Winners will take home some really cool prizes but there are perks to simply showing up and participating too.
All participants receive a free beach club day pass and a Santa hat (can never have enough of those in December). Additionally, finishers will also get medals and a North Pole Certificate to show off at every holiday party you’ll be attending from now until NYE. Gotta love a good humblebrag!
Registrations are open here; tickets start from AED 125 for one adult and one child.
