Would you rather have pan sauce gravy or gold with your steak? You won’t be left to stew on that choice at Rhain, the upscale steakhouse located in Conrad Dubai which serves up equal amounts of both and with oodles of flamboyance, might we add.
Allow us to set the scene: prime-cut Wagyu striploin swathed in edible 24k gold foil emerges from a bulletproof briefcase and show butchers slice it tableside with such finesse that the term ‘butchered it’ takes on a graceful new meaning.
Did we mention the occasional armed security detail that accompanies your dinner?
Now you know. Also, know that the glittery meal comes at an eye-watering AED 895.
But it’s not all over-the-top dishes and price tags at Rhain
If you’d like to sink your teeth into meat that’s free of precious metals, the menu more than caters to that dietary choice. And you’ll still be accorded all of the culinary theatrics, pyrotechnics (hello, blowtorches) and luxe service. Minus the armed guards, though.
The trendy steakhouse’s open kitchen format allows diners to see expert butchers flaunt their nimble knife skills and grillmasters tame blazing charcoal grills. Rhain also offers diners a meat display of wagyu beef, wet and dry-aged meats, A5 Kobe, and free-range lamb that lets meat-lovers pick the cut of their choice.
If you’re stumped by the choices, servers, and butchers will happily guide you through the decision.
What those choices will result in are luscious T-Bone dry aged striploin, a Surf and Turf option that pairs Wagu striploin with half-roasted blue lobster and more. Rhain’s menu isn’t all steak-centric; main course includes an assortment of chicken and fish options, a sushi and ceviche raw bar menu, and salads for the vegetarians.
But who are we kidding? The steaks are the showstoppers here.
Dinner and a Show
Speaking of shows, the eatery puts one on every now and then with cabaret-style entertainment shows, singers and dancers, musicians, and even magicians. A live DJ is part of Rhain’s every proceedings.
Meat aside, Rhain is also passionate about their wine – there’s a walk-in wine cellar staffed with professional sommeliers who’ll help you sift through and make sense of bottle after bottle of world-class vino – from Grand Crus to lesser-known gems.
Named after the Celtic word for ‘spear’, Rhain’s got all the sizzle, and the steaks, needed to pierce through the ranks and become a date-night staple or even a fun dinner hang for when you need to bedazzle your out-of-town friends with some Dubai glitz and glamour.
