After McGettigan’s surprised us with sleek ‘Home by McGettigan’s’ in City Walk, the well-loved Irish pub chain is set to break the mould of what you’d expect from a McGettigan’s again. This time though, they’ve switched locations to Palm West Beach where you can walk into the spanking new Factory Bar + Kitchen by McGettigan’s. It opens on Thursday, September 8 at the (also) newly opened Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah.
This fresh iteration of the popular watering hole is a sea change from the traditional McGettigan’s you know and frequent. For starters, it’s a hop, skip and jump from the beach, a feat none of their other bars have achieved. Besides the sweet location, there’s also the factor of decor. Taking cue from its name, the venue features interiors reminiscent of a warehouse setting; metal beams with handwheels loom over tables, towers of wooden barrels, exposed brick walls, industrial lighting fixtures, boomboxes trapped inside metal cages, a blend of scrubbed wood and exposed metal furniture. You get the picture.
What will carry on from other McGettigan’s to Factory Bar are elements that are integral to quintessential Irish craic: a dedicated stage area for live entertainment that musicians and DJs will takeover after dark and multiple screens sprinkled across the restaurant to keep track of the latest sporting tournament. The comfort of classic Irish nosh (Sunday Roast served with all the trimmings) and drinks, including an array of draught ales, brews, are mixed in with international grub such as tajines, fajitas and more.
This offshoot of McGettigan’s is primed to become more than just your after-work drinks spot. In true Irish pub fashion, Factory Bar by McGettigan’s will have live entertainment to look forward to every night coupled with enticing happy hour offers. And with its polished ambiance and desirable location bump it up to a potential date night spot too. Slainte!
