Dubai has an endless supply of malls around the city to keep your shopping addiction in check. Continuing with our list of easy guides to help you find your way around these massive malls, we’ve finally gotten to one of the oldies – Mall of the Emirates.
Ski Dubai has been around for a long time, and pretty much everyone knows about this place. For those who don’t / have never tried it, it’s an indoor ski resort (22,500 sq meters) inside the Mall of the Emirates (you heard that right!).
Before you skip over this suggestion because going to the arcade for a first date seems like something only 16-year-old’s in 80s high school movies do, just humour us for a second. It’s true, an arcade date seems like a bit of a cliche, but from our experience, it also has the potential to be a lot of fun (if you pick the right place). Magic Planet in the Emirates Mall has been around for ages, but it’s one of our faves because the vibe is unmatched with any other place. Let’s all admit, no matter how old we are we can still all enjoy an air hockey game or a little competition shooting some hoops, right?
Going to the movies is a local favourite in Dubai, not only is the cinema experience one of a kind, with options to go VIP and get the ultimate luxury experience but Christmas time is always packed full with new films. Got any plans for tonight? If you don’t then why not go for a late night screening of the Grinch to get you into the holiday spirit?
This is one of the prime malls to go if you’re really looking to browse from luxury shops to fast fashion like Forever 21, H&M and more. One of our favourite department stores, Harvey Nichols can be found inside and it’s the perfect place to come for all the latest trends and brands.
With such a well-known name, this restaurant doesn’t really need any introduction, does it? Although some might argue that pancakes are strictly a breakfast food, we think that’s all a social construct and you should be able to enjoy any food you want at any time of the day. Feeling some chocolate chip pancakes with maple syrup for dinner? Go for it.
If you get a lil hungry after going to Magic Planet and want to continue with the 80s mood, then head over the Johnny Rockets for the quintessential diner experience. Equipped with checkered floors, jukeboxes, burgers and all the shakes you could possibly want.
Dean & Deluca
Chain of upscale grocery stores with its roots in SoHo, known for their delicious New York style bagels. It’s expanded to various international outlets and continuously referenced within pop culture. If you have one of these in your city then don’t waste any time before going to try something.
Kempinski hotel, why not grab a nightcap at one of the many lounge bars you can find inside. What better way to end an intensive shopping trip than by unwinding at a cozy bar with a glass of wine (or whatever you prefer) in hand.
