Nothing in Alserkal Avenue has even been ordinary. Always going one step beyond to make a niche space, a cosy café or perhaps even an art event for the books. This concrete indoor skatepark is the first of its kind in Dubai. Gooder in Alserkal Avenue is combining an indoor skateboarding area with a Moroccan-inspired café and here’s everything you need to know.
What’s special about the indoor skatepark
The skatepark inside Gooder is for skaters of all levels. Whether you’re a pro or a beginner, you can use this skateboarding arena without a doubt. This designing credit for the artistic space goes to award-winning Studio Pheasant and the building to the Latvian experts at Mind Work.
The smooth ramps, rails and the street-style obstacles give it all the feel it needs. You’re essentially transported back to the streets with plenty of obstacles to work on a new trick. And the best part? There is no summer heat to mess with your ollie plans. You can keep practicing that one stunt, despite the scorching heat outside – in an air-conditioned environment and for free!
A store, a café and an exhibition space at Gooder
Visitors don’t necessarily need to skate. If you’re just there to support or unwind, you can chill or work from the Moroccan-inspired café. The café has a super cool central space with a fountain that closely resembles a Minecraft scene – talk about creativity.

Inspired by Dubai’s Deira Memorial Fountain and traditional Syrian courtyards, the Gooder fountain is a modern twist. It is a reminder of the founder’s visits to the Deira Fountain in the late nineties and his home, Syria.
And for those who love skating gear, Gooder has a retail store filled with skate gear from Habibi Skate Shop. The store features skate boards, the right apparel and accessories that will make you shine on the rink.

And the coolest bit of information we heard? The name ‘Gooder’ is inspiration from founder Faraj’s saying at Habibi Skate Shop (his online skateboarding venture): ‘Skateboarding in good, skateboarding with friends is gooder.’
So, grab your skateboard, or your work laptop and your friends, and head to Gooder in Alserkal Avenue. Check out the first indoor skatepark in Dubai and tell us what you think.
