Firefighting is obviously a very important job, but arguably no-one has done more to make it look more fun than Fireman Sam. Since first appearing on screens in 1987, the plucky hero has been putting out fires and getting into adventures with the residents of Pontypandy – and enchanting generations of children in the process. Now, a whole new way to enjoy the magic of Fireman Sam is coming to the UAE, as a smash-hit UK stage adaptation will head to The Theatre at Mall of the Emirates in Dubai on March 4 & 5, 2023, and to the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi between March 10-12. It’s expected to be popular, so join the waitlist for Dubai here or for Abu Dhabi here, and make sure you’re the first in line for this family-friendly adventure when tickets go on sale on February 8.
It’s the first time this show has ever visited the UAE, so it’s the ideal opportunity to treat the little ones to something new and exciting. The stage adaptation has been brought to life by Mark Thompson Productions, one of the leading family entertainment companies in the UK. And with Fireman Sam, they’ve got one of the UK’s best-loved children’s shows to work with – for starters, it was originally created by two former firemen!
Since arriving on TV screens, the antics of Sam, Penny, Norman Price, and the rest of the squad have delighted children all over the world. In the stage version, you can expect the same blend of charm, action, and humour that we’ve come to know and love. We won’t spoil the show for you, but we’ve been told by our sources in Pontypandy that when Sam goes on holiday, Norman decides to become the star of a travelling circus that’s visiting town. When the circus’s tiger gets loose and the lights go out, there’s a situation developing that only our heroic Fireman Sam can rescue – but will he be back in time to save the day?
Children and adults alike will find loads to delight them at this wonderful hour-long show, which will feature songs, dances, and much more. Kids are invited to become a fire-fighter cadet, witness the spectacle of the circus, and make some unforgettable memories with Sam and the gang. Meanwhile, adults can revel in the nostalgia of a show that formed a part of their own childhood – and we bet you’ll be humming the theme song for days afterwards!
