The future is here. Dubai’s first-ever Metaverse nightclub, named Vision opened it’s doors to the city’s party people this month, and connects virtual and real realms. But hold off on the VR headsets just yet… While the club’s connected to the Metaverse, the online virtual reality world, it’s very much situated in the here and now as a physical space you can visit in Dubai. And party hard in. Doesn’t this main hall (above) bear an uncanny resemblance to the ‘End of Line Club’ in the movie Tron Legacy?
Sci-fi fans who’re having deja vu, we’re right there with you. Located at the H Hotel, Vision is set to redefine the city’s nightlife scene, and from the pictures we’ve seen of the club it looks otherworldly.
Laser beams darting across the space in rhythm to techno music and LED lights will give the nightspot a cyberspace ambiance that feels straight out of the Matrix. You know what they say, sometimes, life imitates art and we’re pix-elated that it’s something so mind-blowingly futuristic. But it’ll hang on to elements of a traditional club with a dancefloor, private booths and exclusive VIP tables.
What is Vision nightclub’s Metaverse connection?
No, you definitely won’t be throwing on a VR headset and raving to techno music in your living room in your sweatpants.
The nightspot is built around the Metaverse, which means you can splurge on your cocktails using cryptocurrency. Dubaiites are probably going to remain unfazed by this a handful of restaurants and lounges across the city have already stepped into the cryptosphere. Vision takes it one step further and bowl over Dubai’s digital finance-savvy crowd: you can shop for NFTs over the bar counter as you sip on your drink.
We’re still wrangling our brains around how all of this works but we’re pretty clear on one thing – the club has partnered with a luxury watch brand Jacob&Co, so party-goers can get their hands on exclusive watches when they purchase the venue’s one-of-a-kind NFT. Come to think of it, what’s a better investment than in yourself having a good time, right?
And good times galore are in store at Vision; expect performances by international electronic artists such as Sam Feldt and other popular DJs and artists at the venue. Every weeknight will be themed after a particular music genre, so whether you’re a hip-hop fan or only techno beats get you up on your feet, there’s something for everyone here.
Vision Metaverse nightclub is the brainchild of Chinese firm WanTing Catering & Entertainment Management Co. and will be their first venue in the Middle.
