While we’re all working towards that summer beach bod, here’s some motivation – a spanking new public beach has joined the ranks of Dubai’s world-class shoreline. And it’s got a location that sets it apart. Removed from the cluster of popular private and public beaches hugging the Jumeirah coastline, this new public beach is a stretch on the Deira waterfront called Dubai Islands Beach.
But here’s the best part? It’s free AND pet-friendly. That gentle gust of wind brushing past you is the collective sigh of relief from Dubai’s pet parents, who’re constantly on the lookout for open spaces for their canine and feline babies to get in some exercise and feel the sand between their paws. Doggos can splash around in the waves too, so that’s an additional win for animal lovers.
Can I find Dubai Islands Beach on Google Maps?
In the words of Barack Obama, yes, you can. It’s easily accessible by car too. And a quick Google search will show you that the beach is a five-min walk from Sands Beach Club at Centara Mirage Beach Resort Dubai. So, you can always use that as a navigation point. It’s all in the same vicinity as Dubai Islands – the man-made archipelago off Deira’s coast. This few-days-old beach already has a strong online presence with its very own Instagram page.
What else can I find at this new beach?
Things might be tranquil at Dubai Islands Beach for now and the only sounds you can hear are the whispering of the waves. Followed by woofs of the occasional dog, of course. You can relish serene sunsets on the free-to-use beach loungers scattered around. But the decibels, and excitement, are set to swell as this family-friendly beachfront area plans to have a ton of watersports. Beach volleyball, paddle boarding and kitesurfing, and football are all in the pipeline.
As far as development dreams go, that’s just scratching the sandy surface. By the end of 2023, Dubai Islands Beach will have restaurants and pop-ups scattered around the waterfront area making it a thriving beachfront venue. We’ve already spotted food carts by Boba experts Yi Fang and Gelato Divino’s ice cream truck. Will this be the next Kite Beach? Till then, we’re going to seas the day and savour the sandy solitude here.
