We’re always on the lookout for activities that are family and group friendly, so our exploration of Dubai’s hidden gems took us to Chaos Karts and The Cube. Located at 6A Street, Al Quoz, Dubai, Chaos Karts promises a thrilling racing experience compared to that of a video game. The track features 6 projected augmented reality (A.R.) tracks that fully engage you into a unique new world of racing. Our racing experience at Chaos Karts Dubai:
Upon arrival, the staff were immediately helpful and incredibly friendly. They ensured we understood all of the instructions before we started racing and that our experience went smoothly. While waiting, we indulged in the vintage arcade games available at the venue, kicking off our experience with a touch of nostalgia. Stepping onto the track, it felt like we were walking straight into a real-life version of “Mario Kart”. Lights and projections illuminated the course, bringing it to life and fueling our eagerness to drive within our own real-life video-game.
The goal is to drive over and “collect” jewels to earn points, while “sabotaging” competitors with bombs and firing lazers at one another’s karts. The AR projections delivered as promised, responding dynamically to every “power up” collected or “trap” thrown, truly putting the “chaos” in Chaos Karts. The tracks alternated after each round, with each one feeling unique and exhilarating. Best of all, the karts themselves ran smoothly throughout the race. We adored every second of our go-karting adventure, and the whole experience left us feeling like we were children again, only swapping out the controllers for actual steering wheels.
Experiencing The Cube’s Games
After getting our fill of racing thrills on the track, we headed over to The Cube arcade within Chaos Karts. The Cube has 4 main games to choose from and we got to try them all. “Cyber Soccer”, “Eagle Eye”, and “Wick’s Revenge” each challenge you to hit targets quickly and accurately using tools like soccer balls or a laser-pointer gun, which is an exciting way to show off and sharpen your reflexes. “Lazer Escape” offered a unique obstacle course where we had to dodge laser beams and race to hit a button on the other side as quickly as possible. It certainly felt like being the star of our very own spy movie. Each of these games was a blast to play, and it’s easy to see how they could help kids develop their hand-eye coordination as well.
