The world’s busiest international airport knows time is money, and long queues are stressful. Passengers landing at Dubai International Airport can skip the baggage carousel and go home straightaway. A new baggage delivery service will drop off your suitcases at your doorstep or hotel room within six hours of your arrival.
marhaba, a division of dnata – Emirates’ airport services, has teamed up with baggage logistics company DUBZ to provide this Land and Leave service to travellers flying into Dubai Airport.
Remote check-in anywhere and luggage storage services
Additionally, they’re also offering passengers departing from Dubai the option to check in anywhere and deposit luggage remotely. They really do mean ANYWHERE. A check-in agent will collect your bags from your home, office or a hotel and will also issue your boarding passes. They will then safely transport your suitcases to the airport and also oversee customs clearance.
What that means is no more queuing at the checking counter and arriving early to the airport to account for wait times! Instead, use that time to relax at the lounge and enjoy shopping at the duty-free.
marhaba’s new link-up with DUBZ also includes a third service of Baggage Storage and Delivery – transit travellers can leave their baggage for short-term durations or longer periods with same-day delivery, while they explore the city without dragging their bags in tow.
How to book the baggage delivery service and prices
Passengers can book this service on marhaba’s website or at designated service points around Dubai. Online bookings must be made 24 hours ahead of arrival, and call the marhaba call centre or sales office for late bookings.
However, this is a paid service. Pricing for the Land and Leave service starts from AED 249, and the Check In Anywhere option is priced at a starting rate of AED 279.
This new service is anticipating international travellers’ changing priorities. A Global Passenger Survey by IATA, saw 70 per cent of travellers respond saying they prefer checking in luggage early to avoid the inconvenience of long queues.
“We’re anticipating those needs and going beyond them. It’s about removing friction and giving people back time and peace of mind,” said Jaffar Dawood, Divisional Senior Vice President for UAE Airport Operations at dnata.
