South America’s rainforests are quite a few airplane rides away. Luckily, we have Green Planet in City Walk – a living, breathing, indoor rainforest right in the heart of Dubai. Now with the return of their popular ‘Camping in the Rainforest’ experience, you can sleep in a mighty jungle surrounded by 3000 plants and animals. Every weekend until October 2026, both young and old explorers can stay overnight in this tropical forest, guided by expert biologists. This year, there are added surprises – different themed activities for each month, and campers take home special badges and stickers as souvenirs after their night-long stint as Mowgli.
Encounter real animals at the Camping in Rainforest experience
During June, the rainforest will get quiet. Families and campers will get a chance to prowl the forest with torchlights in hand. The ‘Jungle by the Moonlight‘ experience will give you an upfront look at the fascinating creatures that emerge after sunset. Guided by expert biologists, campers will see Amazonian anacondas, cuddly bearcats, sloths and more at the nocturnal trek.
With July comes the Rainforest Rovers: Expedition Edition. You can turn up your sense of adventure and give your kids a chance to explore the rugged terrains of the rainforest. With flashlights in hand, campers can enjoy scavenger hunt-style challenges and interactive activities through late hours of the night. Expect close-up wildlife encounters and fun curious elements that bring back the spark in your child’s eye.
Come August, campers will huddle under the iconic Kapok tree to listen to tales of rainforest legends, craft jungle relics and artwork, as well as encounter colourful birds, porcupines and creepy-crawlies. The Legends of The Green Planet will have interactive moments that remind campers why the jungle is so fascinating.
What to expect at Green Planet this summer
All editions include delicious buffet dinner, nocturnal biome tours, entertainment centre access and an animal feeding session. Expect nature-themed movies and games for the family with everyone. You’ll also indulge in quintessential camping activities – roasting marshmallows over a campfire.
The Green Planet Dubai’s best-loved residents, including Lemon the sloth, Kendrick the lemur and Avo the anteater, remain part of the overnight experience alongside other free-roaming animals such as birds, and geckos across the biome.
Once bellies and minds are full of food and wondrous nature facts, you can fall asleep in comfortable fully prepared tents and hammocks to the sounds of cooing birds blanketed by a canopy of trees, followed by a nutritious buffet breakfast at the Green Planet.
This family-friendly after-hours experience is a perfect summer escape that’s wildly popular and books up quickly. To keep the experience cosy and quiet for the critters, only a few guests are allowed per night. So make like Tarzan, swing into action and book!
